AI in Marketing
AI is revolutionizing marketing, but knowing how to effectively use it can be tricky. Through my hands-on experience exploring new and popular AI tools, strategies, and successful implementations, I’ve got a good idea what works.
In this post I’ll share specific ways I’m using AI in my marketing strategies, and show you the specific tools and use cases I recommend.
Vi‎deo Content Creation
AI video generation tools enable the rapid creation of high-quality, professional-looking marketing videos, helping me produce a wide variety of video content at scale without needing expensive equipment or video production teams. Its now easy to tailor videos for different audience segments and dub videos into multiple languages to expand my reach.
AI Video Tools
Sy‎nthesia
Play
Synthesia is a text-to-video platform that’s great for creating explainer videos and product demos. Its AI avatars allow me to easily craft professional and engaging content that simplifies complex ideas or highlights product features in a visually appealing way.
Here’s an example of an explainer video made with Synthesia:Play
Another great marketing use case for Synthesia is for social media videos. It’s easy to create a personal avatar that looks just like you (or you can use a stock avatar if you want to remain anonymous), and then you can create as many videos as you want in over 140 languages. Check out how Ruben followed this process and reached more than 6 million views across TikTok, LinkedIn, Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts:Play
I’ve also used Synthesia to create personalized video outreach campaigns, adding a human touch to emails and improving engagement rates.
Ru‎nway
Play
Runway is a useful tool for creating creative short, reusable video assets, but the key issue I have struggled with is the randomness of its outputs. This unpredictability can make it challenging—and costly—to create videos that stay on-brand.
After some trial and error, I developed a simple workflow that ensures I consistently produce high-quality, on-brand video assets every time.
My workflow:
- Midjourney (text to image)
- Runway (image to video)
- Topaz Labs (upscaling)
The trick is to generate brand-aligned images in MidJourney and then animate them using Runway’s image-to-video tool, where I typically add motion effects, zooms, and transitions. This process ensures consistency with my brand while creating short, reusable video assets adaptable for various marketing formats.
Fi‎lmora
Play
Filmora has been my tool of choice for straightforward video editing. I use it to enhance my marketing clips by adding transitions, effects, and motion tracking.
The interface is intuitive, even for beginners, and its pre-designed templates help me create polished videos without much effort. The AI tools, like scene detection and auto-cropping, saved me hours on repetitive tasks while cleaning up my videos.
Op‎us Clip
Play
Opus Clip is great for repurposing long-form content into short, engaging videos. I often use it to turn webinar recordings into bite-sized clips for social media, and the AI does an impressive job of identifying key moments to highlight.
It automatically adds captions and text overlays, which makes the content more accessible and visually appealing. While it’s not ideal for highly customized edits, its ability to quickly generate shareable clips has made it invaluable for my marketing efforts.
Co‎ntent Writing
AI content writing tools help me brainstorm ideas, create outlines, and even draft full pieces. Whenever I hit a creative block or need to save time, it’s there to provide a strong starting point. They can also help ensure my writing stays consistent and tailored to specific audiences.
AI Content Writing Tools
Ch‎atGPT

‎I often see recommendations for dedicated AI writing tools (e.g. Jasper), but I think that with the right prompts the best AI tool for writing assistance is still either ChatGPT (with Canvas) or Claude.
I often hear people say that Claude is better than ChatGPT for writing. I’ve also tried Claude for writing tasks, and while it has some strengths, I find ChatGPT more versatile. Claude seems to excel in crafting long, coherent narratives, like novel drafts, and many users praise its ability to maintain context over extended writing sessions. However, in my experience, ChatGPT offers better responsiveness for short-form content and brainstorming.
Where Claude feels more rigid, ChatGPT provides a flexible approach, allowing for easy tweaks and experimentation. For general marketing and content creation, ChatGPT continues to be my go-to.
Ry‎tr

‎If you insist on going for a dedicated writing tool, Rytr has my vote. It’s useful for short writing tasks like product descriptions and social media posts. I’ve also tested using it to draft 500-word posts, even with technical terms, in a fraction of the time—revising is so much faster than starting from scratch. Its templates and plagiarism checker save time and effort, making it a useful tool for creating polished, ready-to-go content.
While it’s probably not suitable for longer or more complex writing projects, at just $9/month, it’s super afforable and good value for money.

So‎cial Media Management
These tools handle everything from generating post ideas to scheduling content. They help me create engaging captions, format posts for different platforms, and even analyze performance data to see what’s resonating with my audience. The time saved on repetitive tasks means I can focus more on strategy and creativity.
Social Media Management Tools
Vi‎sta Social
Play
Vista Social became a core part of my workflow for managing social media. One feature I rely on is the visual scheduling and preview tool—it ensures every post looks polished and aligns with my brand before going live. The AI Assistant has saved me a lot of time by generating captions and responding to messages effortlessly. I also love how it consolidates all my comments and reviews into one hub, making audience engagement much easier to handle. Plus, the analytics help me see what’s working and adjust my strategy as needed.
Fe‎edHive
Play
‎FeedHive is another of my favorite tools for managing social media. The AI suggestions and hashtag recommendations are a lifesaver when I’m short on ideas, and scheduling content is super easy. I love how the previews show exactly how posts will look, so everything stays on-brand. The analytics help me see what’s working, and the collaboration tools make getting approvals a breeze. It’s not great for tracking brand mentions, but for $19/month, it’s perfect for small businesseses.
In‎fluencity
Play
Influencity is an AI-powered influencer platform. When I started using it I was hoping to simplify my influencer marketing campaigns, and it made a huge difference. It helped me find influencers who really fit my brand by letting me filter through tons of profiles based on things like location, industry, and follower count.
What I loved most was how easy it was to track results. I could see engagement metrics and campaign performance in real-time, which meant I wasn’t left guessing if my strategy was working. It’s made collaborations so much smoother and saved me a ton of time.
SE‎O
These AI SEO tools help me identify the best keywords, analyze competitors, and suggest ways to optimize my content for search engines. Whether it’s refining meta descriptions or improving website performance, they takes the guesswork out of SEO.
AI SEO tools
Su‎rfer
Play
While I wouldn’t rely on Surfer to write full articles, its ability to create detailed, Surfer NLP-optimized content briefs is invaluable. I use this platform to speed up the initial research and structuring phase, making it easier to guide human writers in producing content that’s both engaging and SEO-friendly.
Ad‎ Campaign Management
Managing ad campaigns has become so much easier with AI. It helps me create compelling ad copy, craft the right landing page, and even optimize bids in real time.
AI Ad Campaign Tools
Ad‎Creative
Play
AdCreative is a helpful tool for generating professional ad designs quickly. By entering basic campaign details, I can create polished, platform-specific ads ready for use with minimal tweaks. I like the ability to produce multiple variations for A/B testing, which saves a lot of time.
While the tool excels at clean, modern designs, it struggles with creativity for niche or highly unique campaigns. The copy suggestions also felt formulaic, so I often rewrote them to fit my brand. Despite its limits, AdCreative is great for efficient ad creation and campaign optimization.
Cr‎eatopy
Play
Creatopy has been a solid tool for managing ad variations across multiple platforms. One feature I’ve come to rely on is the feed system—it lets me pull ad variations straight from spreadsheets, which has made it possible for me to handle very high-volume campaigns. The resizing tool is also handy for adapting designs to different formats, though I still have to tweak things manually sometimes to get them just right.
Creatopy isn’t without its quirks. There are occasional bugs, but the support team is great—they’re quick to jump in and help, which makes a big difference when you’re on a deadline. The interface is straightforward and easy to use, and while it’s not perfect for more creative or complex projects, it’s been a real time-saver for simple, professional-looking ad campaigns.
‎E‎m‎ail Marketing
These tools help with a range of email marketing tasks including drafting personalized email copy and scheduling campaigns. I can create tailored emails for different segments of my audience without spending hours on manual work. The result is better engagement and conversion rates, all while saving me a ton of time.
AI Email Marketing Tools
Hu‎bSpot AI Email Writer
HubSpot’s AI email writer has been a great tool for writing personalized email campaigns quickly. The AI generates drafts for everything from sales outreach to newsletters, and I can easily tweak the tone, length, or content to suit my needs.
Naturally it’s integrated with HubSpot’s CRM, so emails are automatically logged, making it easy to track progress and follow up at the right time. Being able to access the assistant directly from Gmail is convenient workflow amd saves me from jumping between tabs.
The tool is free, with more advanced email features available in HubSpot’s paid Marketing Hub plans starting at $15/month.
Sa‎lesHandy
Play
SalesHandy has been a practical AI tool for managing cold email campaigns. Its helpful email tracking feature lets me know exactly when messages are opened or links clicked so that I can strategically time my follow-ups. The mail merge and automated follow-up features make personalizing bulk emails simple, and has saved me hours of repetitive work while keeping messages tailored.
It doesn’t have the depth of a full CRM, but for lead generation and outreach it’s a straightforward and budget-friendly option. You can get started with the tool for just $9/month and it’s made my cold outreach much more efficient, so I’d say it’s worth it.
De‎‎sign
Creating visuals for marketing used to take forever, but AI has simplified the process. It helps me generate high-quality images, edit photos, and even design graphics that fit my brand’s aesthetic. Whether it’s creating social media posts or banners for a campaign, I can produce professional visuals quickly and without needing advanced design skills.
